Website ownership rights

Believe it or not, some web design companies retain full ownership rights of your website and your domain name, even after you paid them for those services. If you have Kentucky Lake Productions build your website, you will most likely own all the content of that website - including your domain name.

While there are no exceptions for your domain's ownership rights (it belongs to YOU!), the script and code behind your site could have a few.

The code and graphics developed by us, unless otherwise stated in your contract, are yours.  However, if there are third-party scripts that we use to make something work on your website, those are protected under licenses.  They are usually free licenses but must maintain a copyright notice from the script's author.
